Bomba on Lonsdale Street is simply delicious, taking me back to Barcelona and the spanish cuisine.

The food was amazing as you can see above… The range of charcuterie meats were definitely up there, especially the house pickled pork belly which just melted in your mouth.

The service and also the sangria was flawless and the friendliness of the kitchen staff (as we sat at the bar) was awesome.

It was that good that a week later I went back to experience their Suckling Pig Lunch for the Melbourne Good Food Month. The post for this will be up soon!

My favourite was definitely the dessert plate by far. Is definitely worth saving your penny's for a dinner at Ezard.

A busy sunday morning as usual at Hammer & Tong, and we couldn't wait to see what the fuss was about. We didn't have to wait to long for a table for two, however once we sat down, we were waiting a very long time to be seen! When we got our hands on a menu at last, the hard part was then deciding what to have. 

I chose the soft shell crab burger and my partner had the corn zucchini fritters and we both ordered freshly made juices which were very delicious! 

If your after a sunday brunch with a twist, I would definitely recommend giving this ago, however, beware of waiting times!

Top Notch Breakfast

A few weeks back we managed to secure a table at the ever busy Top Paddock. Although we had to put our name on a waiting list, surprisingly we didn't wait long for a table of two (around 5 minutes). Tables of 3 or more did have a longer wait by the looks of things. 

However long the wait is, I believe it is definitely worth it and I would highly recommend going if you are a fellow breakfast or brunch lover. They have a fantastic menu and it was very hard to choose just one item!

Service was great even though they were flat out on that sunny Sunday morning.

Europe Trippin'


They are all about FRIES.
& they are the best fries I have ever had

I have recently returned from five fabulous weeks of tripping around Europe.

It was such an experience and I am so grateful and lucky to have been able to go and most of all share it with my other half. We travelled a lot in this five weeks and managed to visit Paris, London, Belgium, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Ibiza, Florence, Rome, Santorini, Mykonos and finished off in Athens.

The foods, culture, the history… it all was unreal and I cannot even begin to describe it.

I am sharing today a snapshot of my food experience of Europe. The variety over there is amazing and everything you eat is delicious. You don't leave a restaurant, bar or cafe unhappy over there.

I hope you enjoy and this makes you want to get out there and eat!

Tapas are huge over in Spain.
Two of my favourites that I tried at a few places are Potatos Bravas (top, potatoes fried with a tomato sauce and mayo) and Potato Bombas (bottom, with a mince centre covered in potato and fried)


Pizza in Rome, how could we not!
This restaurant we went to twice, very delicious pizza and cheap wine!


By far the best souvlakis i have ever had from Lucky's. If you are visiting Santorini, I highly recommend. Lucky's can be found in Fira town.
These are falafel souvlakis with chips, onions, lettuce, tomato and yoghurt. I think I had about 7 of these in 2 days...

This place was very good and very cheap!

MY favourite place we visited would have to be the Greek islands, there really is nothing like it. I can't wait to continue my foreign food journey next year.

Down Red Spice Road

I have been to Red Spice Road on McKillop Street quite a few times and last night was the first time I have been back in nearly a year. It made me remember why I always wanted to return.

The great service and food with so much flavour you just want to keep eating and eating, it really is an awesome experience.

To start, we ordered us the lamb ribs served with an eggplant relish. These were definitely one of my favourites and still are. The meat is so tender and has such a lovely crisp coating, it would be quit easy to eat a few plates of these. The only complaint I have is that I definitely preferred these ribs when they were served with the chilli jam. I found that the eggplant flavour just didn't compliment the dish.

We ordered two mains to share. The first one we ordered was an all time favourite of crispy pork belly, apple slaw, chilli caramel and black vinegar. I simply cannot fault this dish, with such an amazing balance of sweet and sour it is so delicious. Try it for yourself, you will see why you cannot resist eating more!

This dish above, would have to be hands down the most delicious dish I have had in a long, long time. This was the beef short rib, with steamed buns, pickled vegetable and spice paste. I really think I could have eaten this all on my own but I was kind enough to share it. I would highly recommend this dish also.
